Important Reminders:  If you have questions or need help email us - 4Support@4RemoteSupport.com

1. The IP address and port number settings below are used by the remote computer.  The remote computer

connects to your desktop viewer. Once connected, you'll have remote control of the remote system.

2. Setup port forwarding on your router/firewall.  Port forwarding is not required on the remote client side.

3. Your remote end-users computers DO NOT Require any pre-installed software. You however need Java

installed and enabled for your browser(s).

11-26-18 Update:

Sorry for the extended delay in the announced updates getting in place, we're working on them and testing and hope to have them place soon. They will likely be released a component at a time. To be followed with redesign of user/member pages to an Admin portal like look.

Thank you all for your patience and support!

To learn how your remote users/clients get support from you, or to download the support exe for your website, click here.

 Open Your Live Chat Window

To download code for adding chat to your web site click here. For desktop shortcuts click here.

Step 1

Set your viewer's public IP address.

 Currently configured IP Address Account is Disabled."); } else{ echo (""); } ?>   Address was updated and saved."); $_SESSION['updated_ip'] = FALSE;} ?>

Enter the public IP address of your router/firewall into this field to provide support over the Internet. Your current public IP address is shown in the upper right corner of this page.

IMPORTANT NOTE: To support PCs on your local LAN or private WAN, enter your computer's ip address (run ipconfig from a command prompt to get your computer's ip address).

Step 2

Set your viewer's port number.

Current configured Port Number Account is Disabled."); } else{ echo (""); } ?>   Port number was updated and saved."); echo ("

** Restart your viewer if it's currently running for the port change to take affect.

"); $_SESSION['updated_port'] = FALSE;} ?>

Configure TCP port forwarding for the port number shown in this field on your Internet router. Forward the port to the computer you'll be providing support from. You only have setup port forwarding on your router/firewall, not the remote user side. Use the Test Viewer button in Step 4 on this page to TEST connectivity to your viewer before trying to support a remote user.

Step 3

Start your desktop viewer.

The desktop viewer will be started via a Java Applet and run minimized. Once the viewer is started, use the Test Viewer button in the next step (Step 4) to test connectivity to the viewer from the Internet.

If a Java dialog window opens, click 'Run', 'Yes', or 'OK' to continue.

The viewer software starts and runs minimized with a tray icon.

TEST YOUR VIEWER'S CONNECTION with the

Test Viewer Connection button in the next step before

trying to support a remote user.

Step 4

Perform a simple test of your configuration.

Once you've setup port forwarding on your Internet router/firewall, or gateway, test your configuration by clicking on the test viewer button below. The test will use the IP address and port number that you've configured in Steps 1 and 2.

The viewer test was successful. "); //$updated_ip = FALSE; } if ($_SESSION['porttest_result']=="false") { // var is set true by 4testport.php echo (" Sorry, the viewer test was not successful."); //$updated_ip = FALSE; } unset($_SESSION['porttest_result']); $_SESSION['porttest_result']="kissmyars" ; ?>

Your viewer MUST be running and port forwarding on your local

Internet router/gateway MUST be setup properly for the test to be successful.

IMPORTANT NOTE: DO NOT USE MICROSOFT RDP FOR ANY TESTING.

The test script was designed to test if port forwarding is setup properly for Internet support by sending a TCP packet to your public IP address that you applied in Step 1. It cannot and will not work if you've entered your computer's private IP address.

Email a remote support link to your user.

When the link in the email you send is clicked, a browser window opens and loads the connect page automatically. Be certain you've used the Test Viewer Button in Step 4 above and it was successful before you send an email or else your end-user will not connect to you.

Click here to send a remote support link via a send email form on our site.

To use your own email program such as Outlook, just copy and paste the link shown below into a new message. The link can be re-used more than once.

Sorry, this link and feature is unavailable until you have tested your viewer successfully at least once using the Test Viewer button in Step 4.

Also note, if your end-users login for support through our homepage, they will receive a message stating you have not completed the setup of your account.

" ); } ?>

You DON'T have to send a support email for your remote clients to get support from you. There are other methods.

Change your support account password.
